Every bean we sell represents a life, a person for whom we’ve made a real, tangible difference.

Many years ago, I prayed a dangerous prayer of break my heart for what breaks yours Lord. That afternoon I was walking out of Sam's Club, and I noticed a large board hanging on the wall filled with photos of missing children. I had walked by that board a hundred times over the years but that day I "saw" those kids through God's eyes and it stabbed me in the heart. Those kids are real. They have families and friends who miss them and parents who do not sleep because their kid is gone, and I stood there with tears running down my face staring at each of their faces and started praying for them and their families by name. That was 12 years ago, and I don't ever remember not stopping every time I leave to see which faces are new and pray that same prayer for each of them by name. Then last summer I saw the movie "The Sound of Freedom" which shined a light on the realities of human and specifically child trafficking. And I found myself sobbing again, there in the theater.

The burden I felt for these kids increased tenfold and my prayers turned to "I wish I could do more than just pray for them." I wished I had the funds and resources to hire detectives to hunt each one of them down and bring them home. I wished I could bring peace to parents and help them find sleep once again.
 

I prayed to God to bless me so that I could bless others and do more to help rescue those kids. Over the course of Thanksgiving week of 2024 God started opening doors and showing me His plans: We we're going to start a coffee company together that used 50% of its profits to help organizations that were 'boots on the ground' doing something tangible to help rescue those kids and the other 50% would go back to bless the company’s employees who do all the work to make you a great bag of coffee.

OUR Rescue was first on our list to help financially and as I had also been a past supporter of World Vision and currently sponsor two young ladies through Compassion International, we decided to help rescue those kids from poverty as well. That's when Malku Beans was officially “born”.

Since then, we’ve added a few more great organizations to our support list including The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (Missing Children), 988 Lifeline (Suicide/Crisis Hotline), Heartbeat International (Abortion Prevention), and Show Hope (Adoption Support): Seven organizations in total.

It might only be coffee to you, but it’s hope for them. Little things can and still do make a big difference. We truly hope you’ll join us in our mission and get to enjoy a great cup of coffee along the way.
